Based in Nashville Tennessee, Jenny and Tyler are an indie folk-pop duo with a wonderfully melodious tone and relationship. They met in college, started performing together and gradually fell in love. Over the course of the years, they grew and developed their musical talents, and finally, this year they signed with a record label Residence Music. On October 16th, the couple is also looking forward to the release of their new album, Of this I’m Sure.Jenny and Tyler began their promotional tour in honor of this big step. I was among the few lucky people privileged to hear the upcoming album, interview them, and also attend their show. Jenny and Tyler performed at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. The location provided a wonderful atmosphere for the fans, giving them a private space to see the stunning duo.Accompanying Jenny and Tyler, Jillian Edwards graced the audience as the opening artist. With her sweet, beautiful voice and powerful lyrics, she stuns her fans each time. When Jenny and Tyler took the stage, they started strong and sweet. Tyler’s powerful and passionate voice perfectly complements Jenny’s soulful and graceful one. They sang songs from their older works and also introduced some of the new songs to the audience. Before some of the songs, Tyler and Jenny also explained to the audience what each meant to them. Their lovely “You are a Song” follows a sweet, and upbeat tune and muses about the joys of love and companionship. My personal favorite, “Song for You”, sends a deep and powerful message about love’s difficulties and reassurances. They also ended the show with a bang, singing their classic “Faint Not” for their fans. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeOh7dZOQGw[/embed] I believe that the duo’s beauty lies in their love for each other and their passion for their music. Listening to them that day on stage, one can feel the impact and power their music holds. Whether they sang about a loved one, their child, or each other, their strength never wavered. In addition, Tyler and Jenny share some endearing glances while they sing which is honestly one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. For these few reasons, and many more not mentioned, I can assure anyone that Jenny and Tyler are two of the most talented musicians I have ever met.If you haven’t already, have a listen to this wonderful duo. Keep an eye out for the full interview and concert review in this semester’s edition of Frequency!
