In the skits incorporated throughout GKMC, Lamar introduces different characters to us and sets the scene with strategically placed sounds of gunshots and sirens. The album is just as strong musically, layering subtle orchestral and piano tones and contemporary hip-hop beats over Lamar’s narrative rhymes.
