Local Natives - 'Hummingbird'

Local NativesHummingbirdFrenchkiss Records California-based band Local Natives has created a successful sophomore album with Hummingbird, comprised of 11 songs reflecting a distinctly West Coast, beachy yet sincere sound. Branching off from the more happy-go-lucky vibe of Gorilla Manor (their debut album), Hummingbird captures a new phase for the band, one filled with more disquietude and apprehension. The vulnerability and rawness of “Colombia” really hits straight at the heart, as does “Mt. Washington” on a lesser scale, resulting in two hauntingly-beautiful, passion-filled tracks.
