Tame Impala: The Last Great Rock Band? (Let's Hope Not)

I pray this ain't so and the idea is as subjective as anything else.  But hey if this was the case, Tame Imapala wouldn't be a bad choice to hinge your bets on. Their recent album, Currents, was rated one of the best albums of 2015 and debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 charts, their best commercial performance. The album was infused with influences of disco, r&b, and synthpop, a slight departure for a band whose psychedelic rock sounds catapulted them to critical stardom and fandom on their previous albums, Lonerism (2012) and Innerspeaker (2010).Check out this, piece in The Fader, "Are Tame Impala the Last Great Rock Band?", where Sam Hockley-Smith argues the ubiquity of Tame Impala in the modern rock soundscape.Let us know what you guys think.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFptt7Cargc[/embed]
