Ducktails - 'The Flower Lane'

DucktailsThe Flower LaneDomino Record Co.Ducktails is the reasonably-successful side project from Real Estate guitarist, Matt Mondanile. In addition to creating beachy wave tunes with Real Estate, Mondanile has now put out several albums with Ducktails that keep the carefree tone rolling. With their newest album, The Flower Lane, Ducktails has shown some significant growth by veering away from the dominant beach tone that made them and Real Estate successful. The heart of summer is still there, but this time it has been drizzled with new wave ambiance and background vocals that show a subsequently undistinguished maturity in Ducktails.
