Foals - 'Holy Fire'
FoalsHoly FireTransgressive RecordsFoals is back with their third album, Holy Fire, doing what they do best: rhythmic guitar strums so infectious that it makes you want to get up and move along. But this British band’s junior album has a slight twist which features a new sound that is a little rougher and tougher. The album’s first single, “Inhaler” and the song “Providence” demonstrate the band’s new sound which features guitar strumming that could be heard on a local rock station. But don’t fret, Foals still remains true to their original sound with lead singer Yanis Philippakis’s vocals, which are as hauntingly smooth as ever. And songs like “My Number” and “Milk & Black Spiders” are reminiscent of the band’s previous two albums, Antidotes and Total Life Forever. If you’ve been a Foals fan since they started in 2005, make sure to give Holy Fire a listen to get a fresh, new perspective on this band. —Liz Choi[soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/95533925" params="" width=" 100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]
